The government has issued a Ministerial Regulation (Permen) Number 02 / PRT / M / 2015 concerning Green Building to support the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Minister of Economy and Investment Expert Staff of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), Rido Matari Ichwan, said that this regulation is expected to help reduce environmental problems caused by excessive use of resources. “Then how do we process the water inside (the building). If possible apply what comes out does not become a burden that is burdensome” said Rido at the Ministry of PUPR, Jakarta, Wednesday (05/06/2015). Separately, Rido added, several buildings in Jakarta and Indonesia had implemented a concept that was developed independently. But of course, this implementation is inseparable from seeing the experiences of several countries that first implemented the green building concept.
Meanwhile, the PUPR building complex itself has been certified by the Green Building Council Indonesia (GBCI), as an energy-efficient green building. This is a form of ministry responsibility. “This is very encouraging, because we managed to build one example. Then I myself was surprised about last year the world bank came to see this building,” said Rido. He added, the basic concept of green buildings can affect technology or products that are already on the market. The government hopes that this concept can support a specific sustainable building program or sustainable development. Director of Building Management and Environment of the Directorate General of Human Settlements, Adjar Pradjudi, asserted that what is meant by green buildings does not mean that buildings are green.
“So what I conveyed is the issue of energy conservation how to save water, recycle clean water that is regulated in this candy. Of course, the matter of building green buildings is the technical rules of the building, the building plus plus, plus what, but it’s not green, “Adjar explained. Communities need to know how to enforce or build a green building by relying on programming and technical implementation. Until later it must be destroyed and can no longer function, all there are procedures. There are not many examples of such buildings, one of which is the Ministry of PUPR building. “The program was designed and built, after that it was functioned and utilized while we evaluated the resources used every year. Certainly hopefully in accordance with the plan, so it still remains as stated, by the GBCI what level is there,” Adjar said.
The application of the regulation of sweets is indeed in force for the first time. However, the government will routinely socialize this candy, especially to the Regional Government which will later oversee the implementation of building construction in their respective districts and cities. In particular, metropolitan cities or large cities have more building construction. The aim of the green building candy is that residents will not only be comfortable living in the building within the next 3-4 years, the next generation has run out of energy because it is explored continuously. For this reason, all building buildings need to be regulated by the sustainability system.
